Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Eastlakes in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (384 people or 14.5%)
  • Retail Trade (320 people or 12.1%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (225 people or 8.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 929 people in total or 35.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Bayside Council area employed 12.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.4% in Retail Trade; and 7.5% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Eastlakes and Bayside Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (12.1% compared to 9.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (14.5% compared to 12.2%)
