Analysis of the household/family types of recent arrivals in the City of Greater Bendigo shows that there was a higher proportion of recent arrivals in couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion in one-parent families compared to Regional VIC in 2021. Overall, 58.8% of recent arrivals were in couple families with child(ren) and 8.2% were in one-parent families, compared with 45.9% and 5.8% respectively for Regional VIC.
There were a lower proportion of recent arrivals in lone person households and a lower proportion in couples without children. Overall, the proportion of recent arrivals in lone person households was 3.5% compared to 4.4% in Regional VIC while the proportion in couples without children was 19.0% compared to 24.5% in Regional VIC.
