Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in Heathcote and District in 2021 compared to Bendigo SA4 shows that there was a higher proportion of step families as well as a higher proportion of blended families. Overall, 12.2% of total couple families with children were step families, and 6.4% were blended families, compared with 7.7% and 4.3% respectively for Bendigo SA4.
There were a lower proportion of other families and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 0.0% compared to 0.5% in Bendigo SA4 while the proportion of intact families was 81.4% compared to 87.5% in Bendigo SA4.
