Analysis of the household/family types in Urban Bendigo in 2021 compared to Bendigo SA4 shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 24.8% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.6% were one-parent families, compared with 25.3% and 10.8% respectively for Bendigo SA4.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 28.9% compared to 27.4% in Bendigo SA4 while the proportion of couples without children was 24.8% compared to 27.0% in Bendigo SA4.
