Analysis of the household/family types in the City of Greater Bendigo in 2021 compared to Urban Bendigo shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 26.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.6% were one-parent families, compared with 24.8% and 12.6% respectively for Urban Bendigo.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 27.3% compared to 28.9% in Urban Bendigo while the proportion of couples without children was 25.9% compared to 24.8% in Urban Bendigo.
