Dominant groups

Analysis of the male five year age groups of Blacktown in 2021 compared to WSROC Region shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 19.7% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 11.4% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 21.0% and 12.3% respectively for WSROC Region.

The major differences between the male age structure of Blacktown and WSROC Region were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (9.6% compared to 7.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 20 to 24 (8.5% compared to 7.2%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 35 to 39 (9.2% compared to 8.2%)
