Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of The Ponds in 2021 compared to WSROC Region shows that there was a higher proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 28.0% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 9.3% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 19.8% and 14.1% respectively for WSROC Region.

The major differences between the female age structure of The Ponds and WSROC Region were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 35 to 39 (13.9% compared to 8.2%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 40 to 44 (11.9% compared to 6.9%)
