Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in The Ponds in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (592 males or 14.5%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (465 males or 11.4%)
  • Construction (364 males or 8.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,421 males in total or 34.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Glendenning employed 4.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 3.9% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 10.7% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of The Ponds and Glendenning were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (14.5% compared to 4.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in financial and insurance services (11.4% compared to 3.9%)
