Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in The Ponds in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (756 females or 20.3%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (430 females or 11.5%)
  • Education and Training (425 females or 11.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,611 females in total or 43.2% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Glendenning employed 25.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 6.6% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 9.9% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of The Ponds and Glendenning were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (10.4% compared to 3.0%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (11.5% compared to 6.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (20.3% compared to 25.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (8.8% compared to 12.5%)
