Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in The Ponds in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (985 people or 12.6%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (964 people or 12.3%)
- Financial and Insurance Services (898 people or 11.5%)
In combination, these three industries employed 2,847 people in total or 36.4% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Glendenning employed 4.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 14.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 5.2% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of The Ponds and Glendenning were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (12.6% compared to 4.1%)
