Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Blacktown in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,350 people or 15.3%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (2,379 people or 10.9%)
  • Retail Trade (2,226 people or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 7,955 people in total or 36.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, WSROC Region employed 13.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 6.8% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 9.7% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Blacktown and WSROC Region were:
