Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Blacktown in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (1,919 males or 16.0%)
  • Construction (1,169 males or 9.7%)
  • Manufacturing (1,155 males or 9.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,243 males in total or 35.4% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, WSROC Region employed 9.9% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; 13.5% in Construction; and 9.4% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Blacktown and WSROC Region were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (16.0% compared to 9.9%)
