Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Blacktown in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,544 females or 25.9%)
  • Retail Trade (1,194 females or 12.1%)
  • Education and Training (928 females or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,666 females in total or 47.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, WSROC Region employed 22.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.7% in Retail Trade; and 12.2% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Blacktown and WSROC Region were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (25.9% compared to 22.8%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (12.1% compared to 10.7%)
