Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in The Ponds in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (501 females or 18.1%)
- Education and Training (363 females or 13.1%)
- Retail Trade (321 females or 11.6%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,185 females in total or 42.9% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, Ward 1 employed 20.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.6% in Education and Training; and 12.7% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of The Ponds and Ward 1 were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (9.4% compared to 8.0%)
