Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Ward 4 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (4,966 people or 16.0%)
- Retail Trade (3,370 people or 10.8%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (3,012 people or 9.7%)
In combination, these three industries employed 11,348 people in total or 36.5% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Blacktown City employed 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.0% in Retail Trade; and 8.1% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Ward 4 and Blacktown City were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (9.1% compared to 7.5%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (9.7% compared to 8.1%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (16.0% compared to 14.8%)

The largest changes in the jobs held by the resident population between 2006 and 2021 in Ward 4 were for those employed in:

- Manufacturing (-1,177 persons)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (+900 persons)
- Education and Training (+836 persons)
