Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Shalvey in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (82 males or 16.5%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (69 males or 13.9%)
  • Manufacturing (65 males or 13.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 216 males in total or 43.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Blacktown City employed 11.1% in Construction; 11.8% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 9.7% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Shalvey and Blacktown City were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (16.5% compared to 11.1%)
