Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Ward 2 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,943 males or 11.7%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (1,938 males or 11.6%)
  • Manufacturing (1,476 males or 8.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,357 males in total or 32.1% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Blacktown City employed 11.1% in Construction; 11.8% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 9.7% in Manufacturing.

There were no major differences between Ward 2 and Blacktown City in 2021.

Emerging groups

The number of employed males in Ward 2 decreased by 629 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Ward 2 were for those employed in:

  • Construction (-349 males)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (-196 males)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (+193 males)
  • Manufacturing (-189 males)
