Dominant groups
Analysis of the Tamil speaking population in Blacktown City Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 23.1% of the Tamil speaking population was aged between 0 and 14, and 6.9% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 19.6% and 10.2% respectively for Greater Sydney.
The major differences between the age groups of the Tamil speaking population in Blacktown City and Greater Sydney were:

- 35 to 39 (+534 persons)
- 40 to 44 (+467 persons)
- 5 to 9 (+330 persons)
- 10 to 14 (+263 persons)
