Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the Chinese languages speaking population in Blacktown City Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a smaller proportion of people born overseas.

Overall, 77.7% of the Chinese languages speaking population was born overseas, compared with 78.4% for Greater Sydney.

The major differences between the countries of birth of the Chinese languages speaking population in Blacktown City and Greater Sydney were:

  • A larger percentage of people born in Malaysia (6.9% compared to 4.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of people born in Vietnam (1.3% compared to 2.9%)
