Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in The Ponds in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (2,808 people or 35.8%)
  • Managers (1,379 people or 17.6%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (1,245 people or 15.9%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 5,432 people in total or 69.3% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Glendenning employed 15.6% in Professionals; 8.3% in Managers; and 17.0% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of The Ponds and Glendenning were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Professionals (35.8% compared to 15.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Managers (17.6% compared to 8.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (4.2% compared to 15.9%)
