Ward 2's occupation statistics quantify the occupations in which the residents work (which may be within the residing area or elsewhere). This will be influenced by the economic base and employment opportunities available in the area, education levels, and the working and social aspirations of the population. When viewed with other indicators, such as Educational Qualifications and Individual Income, Occupation is a key measure for evaluating Ward 2's socio-economic status and skill base.

Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Ward 2 in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (4,190 females or 27.8%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (3,381 females or 22.4%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (2,303 females or 15.3%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 9,874 females in total or 65.4% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, WSROC Region employed 27.1% in Professionals; 22.6% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 15.2% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
There were no major differences between Ward 2 and WSROC Region in 2021.
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Ward 2 increased by 541 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Ward 2 were for those employed as:
- Professionals (+619 females)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (-425 females)
- Sales Workers (-173 females)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (+145 females)
