An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Blacktown in 2016 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (3,497 people or 16.7%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (3,199 people or 15.3%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (2,810 people or 13.4%)
