Need for assistance
In 2016, 148 people (or 4.8% of the population) in Rural Residential reported needing help in their day-to-day lives due to disability. This was a percentage decrease from 2011.
Rural Residential's disability statistics relate directly to need for assistance due to a severe or profound disability. Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Campbelltown City compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a similar proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 4.8% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 4.9% for Greater Sydney.
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Rural Residential and Greater Sydney were:
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 85 and over (5.0% compared to 50.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (18.7% compared to 29.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (8.7% compared to 18.7%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (0.0% compared to 8.5%)
