More Minto residents worked in health care and social assistance than any other industry in 2016.

Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Minto in 2016 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (724 people or 13.7%)
- Manufacturing (572 people or 10.8%)
- Retail Trade (554 people or 10.5%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,850 people in total or 35.0% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, St Andrews - Bow Bowing employed 10.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.8% in Manufacturing; and 10.8% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Minto and St Andrews - Bow Bowing were:
