Dominant groups
Analysis of the car ownership of people born in China in the Inner West Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that 80.4% of people born in China were in households that owned at least one car, while 18.2% did not, compared with 85.3% and 13.5% respectively in Greater Sydney.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion that owned just one car; a smaller proportion owned two cars; and a smaller proportion that owned three cars or more.
Overall, 49.6% of people born in China were in households that owned one car; 24.2% owned two cars; and 6.6% owned three cars or more, compared with 40.3%; 33.2% and 11.8% respectively for Greater Sydney.

The largest changes in household car ownership for people born in China in the Inner West Council between 2016 and 2021 were:
