Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types of people aged 25 to 34 years in the City of Ipswich in 2021 compared to South East Queensland, shows that there was a higher proportion of people aged 25 to 34 years in couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion in one-parent families. Overall, 45.9% of people aged 25 to 34 years were in couple families with child(ren), and 14.7% were in one-parent families, compared with 36.3% and 10.1% respectively for South East Queensland.
There was a lower proportion of people aged 25 to 34 years in lone person households and a lower proportion in couples without children. Overall, the proportion of people aged 25 to 34 years in lone person households was 7.4% compared to 8.1% in South East Queensland while the proportion of couples without children was 21.4% compared to 28.8% in South East Queensland.
