Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Division 04 in 2021 compared to Springfield Lakes shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 30.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 14.0% were one-parent families, compared with 47.5% and 13.7% respectively for Springfield Lakes.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 22.0% compared to 12.7% in Springfield Lakes while the proportion of couples without children was 25.5% compared to 20.3% in Springfield Lakes.

Emerging groups

The number of households in Division 04 increased by 2,076 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in family/household types in Division 04 between 2016 and 2021 were:

  • Lone person (+880 households)
  • Couples without children (+529 households)
  • One parent families (+407 households)
