Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Ipswich in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (7,221 males or 13.5%)
  • Manufacturing (7,071 males or 13.2%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (5,355 males or 10.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 19,647 males in total or 36.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, South East Queensland employed 15.8% in Construction; 8.1% in Manufacturing; and 6.2% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Ipswich and South East Queensland were:
