Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in St Ives in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,407 people or 16.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,155 people or 13.8%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (913 people or 10.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,475 people in total or 41.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Pittwater Council area employed 12.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 11.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 4.9% in Financial and Insurance Services.
