Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in St Ives in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (844 males or 19.6%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (559 males or 13.0%)
  • Retail Trade (374 males or 8.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,777 males in total or 41.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Ku-ring-gai Council area employed 20.2% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 13.4% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 7.1% in Retail Trade.
