Dominant groups
Analysis of the qualifications of the population needing assistance in the MidCoast Council in 2021 compared to Regional NSW shows that there was a similar proportion of people holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), and a lower proportion of people with no formal qualifications.
Overall, 30.8% of the population needing assistance aged 15 years or more held educational qualifications, and 55.7% had no qualifications, compared with 30.8% and 60.0% respectively for Regional NSW.
The major differences between qualifications held by the population needing assistance in MidCoast Council area and Regional NSW were:
- A larger percentage of people with Vocational qualifications (19.5% compared to 18.3%)
- A smaller percentage of people with No qualifications (55.7% compared to 60.0%)
