Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the MidCoast Council area in 2021 compared to Taree shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 17.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.5% were one-parent families, compared with 16.7% and 15.2% respectively for Taree.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 28.7% compared to 33.4% in Taree while the proportion of couples without children was 32.9% compared to 24.4% in Taree.
