Occupation of employment
There were more female professionals in the MidCoast Council area in 2016 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in MidCoast Council area in 2016 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (3,109 females or 21.1%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (2,859 females or 19.4%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (2,756 females or 18.7%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 8,724 females in total or 59.1% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Hallidays Point - Diamond Beach and surrounds employed 30.7% in Professionals; 14.1% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 22.2% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the MidCoast Council area and Hallidays Point - Diamond Beach and surrounds were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (19.4% compared to 14.1%)
- A larger percentage of females employed as Managers (9.2% compared to 5.8%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (21.1% compared to 30.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (18.7% compared to 22.2%)

The number of employed females in MidCoast Council area increased by 682 between 2011 and 2016.
The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2011 and 2016 in the MidCoast Council area were for those employed as:
- Professionals (+284 females)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (+272 females)
- Managers (+66 females)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (+58 females)
