There were more male technicians and trades workers in Southern Rural in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Southern Rural in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (321 males or 24.3%)
  • Managers (258 males or 19.5%)
  • Machinery Operators And Drivers (223 males or 16.9%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 802 males in total or 60.7% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, MidCoast Council area employed 24.3% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 15.2% in Managers; and 11.6% in Machinery Operators And Drivers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Southern Rural and MidCoast Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (16.9% compared to 11.6%)
