Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in MidCoast Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Technicians and Trades Workers (4,119 people or 24.3%)
- Labourers (2,806 people or 16.5%)
- Managers (2,582 people or 15.2%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 9,507 people in total or 56.1% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, MidCoast Council area - Total population employed 14.5% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 12.6% in Labourers; and 12.3% in Managers.
The major differences between the jobs held by males in MidCoast Council area and MidCoast Council area - Total population were:
- A larger percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (24.3% compared to 14.5%)
- A larger percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (11.6% compared to 6.2%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (7.9% compared to 15.0%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (3.5% compared to 10.6%)

The number of employed males in MidCoast Council area increased by 1,701 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of males in MidCoast Council area between 2016 and 2021 in MidCoast Council area were for those employed as:
- Technicians and Trades Workers (+465 males)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (+391 males)
- Managers (+283 males)
- Professionals (+263 males)
