Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Rural East in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Technicians and Trades Workers (300 males or 30.5%)
- Managers (207 males or 21.0%)
- Professionals (159 males or 16.2%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 666 males in total or 67.7% of the employed male resident population.
In comparison, Nillumbik Shire employed 23.9% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 21.7% in Managers; and 22.3% in Professionals.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Rural East and Nillumbik Shire were:
- A larger percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (30.5% compared to 23.9%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Professionals (16.2% compared to 22.3%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (3.7% compared to 5.7%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Sales Workers (4.5% compared to 6.0%)
