Analysis of car ownership in 2021, indicates 55% of households in the Northern Beaches Council area had access to two or more motor vehicles, compared to 59% in Mona Vale.
The ability of the population to access services and employment is strongly influenced by access to transport. Analysis of the car ownership of the households in the Northern Beaches Council area in 2021 compared to Mona Vale shows that 90.3% of the households owned at least one car, while 6.4% did not, compared with 90.9% and 4.7% respectively in Mona Vale.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 35.6% of the households owned one car; 37.1% owned two cars; and 17.6% owned three cars or more, compared with 32.4%; 39.2% and 19.4% respectively for Mona Vale.
