Dominant groups

Analysis of the families with children in Northern Beaches Council area in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a larger proportion of couples with young children, as well as a larger proportion of couples with older children.

Overall, 19.8% of total households with children were couple with young children, and 12.0% were couples with older children, compared with 18.6% and 11.2% respectively for Greater Sydney.

There were a smaller proportion of single parent households with young children and a smaller proportion of single parent households with older children.
