Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Queenscliff in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (221 males or 20.2%)
  • Construction (161 males or 14.7%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (108 males or 9.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 490 males in total or 44.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Northern Beaches Council area employed 15.2% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 15.7% in Construction; and 8.3% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Queenscliff and Northern Beaches Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (20.2% compared to 15.2%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in financial and insurance services (9.9% compared to 8.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in retail trade (5.4% compared to 7.7%)
