Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Fairlight in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (365 females or 20.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (308 females or 17.6%)
  • Education and Training (190 females or 10.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 863 females in total or 49.2% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Northern Beaches Council area employed 13.4% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 19.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 13.1% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Fairlight and Northern Beaches Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (20.8% compared to 13.4%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (8.5% compared to 6.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (6.2% compared to 9.4%)
