Dominant groups
Analysis of the non-English speaking population in the Northern Beaches Council in 2021 compared to Australia shows that there was a similar proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 17.0% of the non-English speaking population was aged between 0 and 14, and 14.6% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 16.9% and 12.8% respectively for Australia.
The major differences between the age groups of the non-English speaking population in Northern Beaches Council area and Australia were:
- A larger percentage of people aged 50 to 54 (7.0% compared to 5.7%)
- A larger percentage of people aged 45 to 49 (7.7% compared to 6.6%)

- 35 to 39 (+1,183 persons)
- 40 to 44 (+966 persons)
- 5 to 9 (+776 persons)
- 50 to 54 (+689 persons)
