Dominant groups
Analysis of the Italian speaking population in the Northern Beaches Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 7.6% of the Italian speaking population was aged between 0 and 14, and 36.7% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 6.4% and 39.6% respectively for Greater Sydney.
The major differences between the age groups of the Italian speaking population in Northern Beaches Council area and Greater Sydney were:

- 45 to 49 (-73 persons)
- 65 to 69 (-56 persons)
- 40 to 44 (-53 persons)
