Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Dee Why in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (1,999 females or 29.3%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (1,231 females or 18.0%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (1,158 females or 17.0%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 4,388 females in total or 64.3% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Northern Beaches Council area employed 33.7% in Professionals; 12.6% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 19.1% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Dee Why and Northern Beaches Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (18.0% compared to 12.6%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Labourers (5.4% compared to 2.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (29.3% compared to 33.7%)
