Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Newport in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (831 females or 33.1%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (500 females or 19.9%)
- Managers (404 females or 16.1%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,735 females in total or 69.1% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Northern Beaches Council area employed 33.7% in Professionals; 19.1% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 17.4% in Managers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Newport and Northern Beaches Council area were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (4.5% compared to 3.4%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (16.1% compared to 17.4%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Newport increased by 95 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Newport were for those employed as:
