Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the population born in China in Northern Beaches Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (497 people or 25.8%)
- Managers (283 people or 14.7%)
- Labourers (268 people or 13.9%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,048 people in total or 54.5% of the employed population born in China.
In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 34.6% in Professionals; 14.5% in Managers; and 6.8% in Labourers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population born in China in Northern Beaches Council area and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Labourers (13.9% compared to 6.8%)
- A larger percentage of people employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (12.9% compared to 6.8%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Professionals (25.8% compared to 34.6%)
