Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the population born in South Africa in Northern Beaches Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (1,115 people or 39.2%)
- Managers (869 people or 30.5%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (316 people or 11.1%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,300 people in total or 80.8% of the employed population born in South Africa.
In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 40.6% in Professionals; 24.2% in Managers; and 12.7% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population born in South Africa in Northern Beaches Council area and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Managers (30.5% compared to 24.2%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (11.1% compared to 12.7%)
