Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of St Kilda in 2021 compared to the City of Port Phillip shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 7.5% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 11.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 11.4% and 13.5% respectively for the City of Port Phillip.

The major differences between the age structure of St Kilda and the City of Port Phillip were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (14.0% compared to 11.0%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (14.4% compared to 11.7%)
