Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in St Kilda East in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (785 people or 14.3%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (738 people or 13.5%)
  • Education and Training (568 people or 10.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,091 people in total or 38.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Elwood - Ripponlea employed 15.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 13.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.9% in Education and Training.
