Dominant groups
The size of City of Port Phillip's Greek speaking labour force in 2021 was 1,205 persons, of which 334 were employed part-time and 747 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) of Greek speakers in City of Port Phillip in 2021 compared to IMAP area shows that there was a similar proportion in employment, as well as a similar proportion unemployed. Overall, 94.8% of the Greek speaking labour force was employed, and 3.2% unemployed, compared with 94.5% and 3.4% respectively for IMAP area.
Analysis of the Greek speaking labour force participation rate of the population in City of Port Phillip in 2021 shows that there was a higher proportion in the labour force (50.4%) compared with IMAP area (49.0%).
Emerging groups
Between 2016 and 2021, the number of Greek speaking population employed in City of Port Phillip showed an increase of 39 people and the number unemployed showed a decrease of 2 people. In the same period, the number of people in the labour force showed an increase of 35 people, or 3.0%.
