Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in St Kilda in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (2,645 females or 38.5%)
  • Managers (1,157 females or 16.9%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (1,061 females or 15.5%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 4,863 females in total or 70.9% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Port Phillip employed 40.2% in Professionals; 18.6% in Managers; and 15.5% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of St Kilda and the City of Port Phillip were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (12.5% compared to 10.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (16.9% compared to 18.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (38.5% compared to 40.2%)
